Preseason games are all about finding a rhythm and brushing off the cobwebs. Luckily for us, a lot of guys are coming back, so getting on the same page won’t be as difficult. The games do help get the team back in a groove and by the time the first regular season game comes around, we’re feeling good and ready for the grind.
These first four games are also about getting the entire squad game time experience. It’s important to find that chemistry early on, but at the same time, it’s very competitive out there. Everyone is out there competing for a job, so you have to push yourself, no matter who you are. For me, I'm going to focus on finding my rhythm while keeping that regular season mentality.
@ Patriots – Starting out our preseason against the defending champions in Foxborough. They have a good crowd over there, so you know it’s going to be rowdy. We have to go out focused, remember everything we worked on in camp and execute. They lost a few good guys on defense, so we’ll see what moves they make now till then.
@ Steelers – This will be my first time playing in Pittsburgh, but no doubt this will be a tough game. They have a lot of offensive weapons and have always been a well-coached team. To win, we’ll have to minimize the mistakes and take advantage of their slip-ups. Excited to see what the city of Pittsburgh is all about though.
vs Eagles – First game back at Lambeau so you know it’s going to be wild! We’ll need ya’ll to bring the energy for this one. We had a good game when we played them last year, they’ll be using that as motivation all week. Our defense will need to be in shape for this game. Coach Kelly has them boys moving quick on offense. We’ll need to slow them down and convert on the other side of the ball to come out on top.
vs Saints – Looking to get a little revenge on this one. We had a tough game back in New Orleans last year and you know I didn’t hear the end of it when I was back home this offseason haha. This is always a big game no matter who the opponent is since guys are trying to make the final roster. Everyone on the team will need to come into this game focused and ready to ball. We have a great coaching staff and I’m confident they’ll have us ready to go.
