The other day, I sat down with Champs Sports to talk about why Under Armour chose me to endorse their brand, a little about me as a football player and give some tips to the young kids looking to become professional athletes. Not sure ya’ll got a chance to see my interview, so wanted to recap it for #PackerNation on the site…
Companies like Under Armour are looking for guys that have great character that represent their brands well, which is why I think it’s a great partnership. My main focus has always been about football; training hard everyday, taking care of my body and just stepping out on the field each week prepared and ready to ball. For me, it’s never been about being famous, parties or none of that, just God, family, and football. I Feel honored that they chose me to represent the brand.
As a football player, personally, I don’t set goals. I just go out there and play for my team. I try to make the most of every opportunity given to me. By the end of the game, if I have 100 yards and 2 touchdowns, then that was a good day. I just know that if I’m not fumbling the ball or making negative plays out there, I’m probably putting my team in a great position to win. I always look out for what’s best for my team.
One piece of advice that I would give to young athletes is to pay attention to detail. Looking back at my high school years when I was one of the top athletes, I didn’t really focus on the little details. I was different than most players and I could get away with just raw talent. Once I got to college, it was a completely different story. It’s hard to change. Some players can change, while others can’t adapt. So definitely pay attention to details and try to learn as much as you can from your coaches.
