It was a great feeling to be back on the field last week. The Pats are a tough squad, doesn’t matter what time of year, they ball. Fortunately we came away with the win and I couldn’t be happier with how we performed. Of course being preseason, we’re going to make a few mistakes, but this is the time to learn from those mistakes, make adjustments and improve as a group.
I think with this veteran squad, we’re able to get off to a good start with a quick tempo, and that showed. We really feel connected as an offense and the team’s chemistry speaks for itself. I was feeling pretty good last week too. Felt quick, strong and was able to capitalize on a few opportunities. As long as I put this team in a good position to be successful, then I feel like I’ve done my job. I’ve always been about this team and what I can do or improve on to help us win.
As a team, we’re always striving to improve each game. Our first game was a good indicator of where we are at as a football team. We’ll take this week to correct a few things and hopefully come out strong again this weekend in Pittsburgh. Steelers are a good group, with some big talent on offense. We’ll have to put up some points quick to take a little pressure off our defense. I’m looking forward to it.
