With the season starting this week, I've been thinking about my family a bit. Man they mean so much to me. They help me when I'm down, always know what to say to cheer me up. There's so many times it's happened... everything growing up, tough moments in college, after that Seattle game last year. My Mom always knows what to say to cheer me up and put me in a good mood.
Obviously Katrina was tough on all of us, everyone living there at the time, but I think my family got through it well. Making sure we're always there for each other no matter what. Sometimes it's tough being so far away from them but at the same time it's important to be your own man and do your thing.
The most important thing is that nothing has changed through all this time. As my sister and I get older we still see our parents the same way and treat them the same way. That won't ever change. I'm glad they're able to watch me play on TV but we don't talk football much. We focus on other things and I think it is good for me.
Can't wait to get out on that field though and start playing ball again. Being out there with the guys, on the practice field and on game day, man it's just fun. That's what it's all about. We have fun while trying to produce for this football organization and for all you fans. Hoping for good things this year.
