The Seattle Seahawks are coming back to Green Bay for what could very well be another snow game. The weather will be frigid, but the feelings between the Packers and Seahawks just might be even colder.
It’s been over a year since the Packers last met the Seahawks (Week 2), but there’s certainly no love lost between the two. The Pack may have won last year, but the Seahawks got theirs the season before with a comeback win in the NFC Playoffs.
This time, there is a lot on the line for both teams and how it will shape their respective postseasons.
Aside from the Cardinals, the Seahawks have two cupcake games against the Rams and 49ers, so it’s highly probable that securing the second seed in the NFC rests on this week’s game in Green Bay.
For the Packers, depending on the outcome of a number of teams, this could be the difference between having to win out the remainder of the season and jumping up a few spots to be right on the edge of the playoff bubble.
It will take another heroic effort, but Green Bay looks as ready as ever to take advantage of the elements they thrive in, and overwhelm a Seattle team that’s looking for an answer on defense to replace their veteran safety Earl Thomas, who suffered a broken tibia in last week’s blowout win over the Panthers.
These two teams have quite a history, and are well aware of the many threats each poses, so expect a cerebral battle from the sidelines of Pete Carroll and Mike McCarthy to the calls under center by Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers.
